Know what's really spooky? How many libraries are available at your fingertips. (Maybe not spooky...but cool, isn't it?) I personally have an Anoka County card, but frequently go into Forest Lake and use the Washington Cty library, or stop at the Ramsey Cty library by Har Mar Mall. I'm a member of the Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library and enjoyed the trips I made to the Franklin library and the North Regional library with pre-K students this summer. The ITS staff has made us of the meeting room at No Regional for a quiet work session and I am always reserving books that I come across and want to read.
What next? I know I don't utilize the online resources very much beyond reserving books, but here I go! In my next post I will go into what I learn from the public library.
I will be developing an online resources class that I'm going to deliver through Moodle. That is a new experience for me.
I like to explore all kinds of information and how it impacts our lives, but for the next few months I am going to focus on the impact of the election of Trump as president. For millions of Americans who are in distress (that includes me) I'm going to explore how we can cope with the emotions engendered and take positive actions to make a difference--first in our own lives and then in the lives of our fellow citizens and in the future of our nation. Let's begin!
Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.

I went the grand opening of the Forest Lake library on Saturday. What a lovely facility. I like the reading loft. And lots of natural light is nice, too. Different concept of information, too--no forbidding reference desks, just smaller, more informal spots for people to ask and talk to the library staff. Very nice. But no coffee shop:-(
You're right, it is a true revolution happening before our eyes. Now if Hennepin County will open up the 3 closed libraries in Minneapolis I will be a very happy camper.
